Being able to wear a casual outfit while I am at work is certainly one of the many pros about being a blogger.
I used to work at a law firm. There, I had to adhere to a rather strict dress code. It is a formal industry where you have to present yourself as professional, trustworthy and disciplined. However, as I now write for a living – and particularly seeing as I write about fashion for a living – I am not only able to dress down, but I am encouraged to do it. I now get to experiment with chic, stylish and fashionable outfits that probably would have got me thrown out of my old law firm had I gone into the office wearing them.
I am getting to dress a little more casual now it is the New Year and the weather in London is starting to warm up – by which I mean I can actually feel my fingertips when I step out of the apartment now. I have been able to hang up my winter coats and return my thickest gloves back to their drawer. Now I am back in the city after an elongated Christmas break home in Switzerland, and back to work as well with plenty of meetings organised for the coming weeks, I have been able to try out a few amazing new casual outfits.
My favourite is my brand new Esprit shirt. A maroon shade with red and white stripes, the shirt has a great blend of colours that really stand out in my wardrobe. Coupled with a smart blazer it makes for a great, and not to mention incredibly comfortable, shirt to wear to meetings now the weather is somewhat mild. It has the perfect blend of chic, elegance and sophistication.
Aside from meetings, I am already planning a number of exciting collaborations for WTF IS FASHION over the coming weeks, so there should be plenty to look forward to with the New Year in full swing.
