10 FACTS ABOUT MILAN FASHION WEEK

Each city has a story, and every single event generates some moments which are to be shared. Could you then imagine how many stories and amazing moments Milan Fashion Week provokes?

In the post below, I'll try to bring you the spirit of Milan from the days of this well-known week. Well, here are some interesting facts:

1. INVITATIONS

As the matter of fact, I went to Milan Fashion Week because of one brand but it turned out I received lots of invitations for other shows and presentations. I was unpacking those sweet luxurious envelops like a child in a candy shop. So, I guess that my decision to reschedule a bit my calendar, and see more from Milan Fashion Week was completely logical-one just cannot miss that kind of pleasure.

2. WRONG BOOKING

It was only three days before Milan Fashion Week, when I realized we booked our hotel room for March instead of February and we had to find a last minute solution. So I ended up changing hotels three times in five days. But hey, changing hotels can also bring something good - I've enjoyed different opportunities which all of those hotels had to offer.

3. ORGANISATION

Let's talk a bit more about the organization of Milan Fashion Week. Basically, there were two main locations for shows and presentations: one was near Via Monte Napoleone / Via della Spiga and the other location was near Via Tortona. Every time I had to decide if I am going to the one or other place in the morning or afternoon, as it took me 20-25min by car from one to other location. I wish I could be at two places at the same time, as those decisions honestly were not so easy to make.

4. ITALIAN FOOD LOVER

Even though I enjoyed the Milan Fashion Week a lot, I admit being exhausted after only 2 days. Running from one show to the other and socializing in between, I barely found time for food. It was an amazing chance to meet my blogger friends, and have even a quick chats with some dear people whom I ran into - time was flying! As some of you guys already know, in Italy you can find good and fresh food around every corner (Ok, lots of Italians wouldn’t agree, but as a tourist you feel that no matter where you buy something to eat, it’s just 100 times better than anywhere in the world). #italianfoodlover

5. FEELING LIKE A STAR

Just an incredible thing happened to me. Before attending the Aigner show, a group of people waited at the entrance and asked me to make a selfie. I was turning around and noticed they really meant me, so I told them I was nobody famous. But there was an Italian girl in this crowd telling me that we had a conversation on Instagram when she asked me about a hotel in Paris. I immediately remembered our conversation and made a photo with them. It made me feel like a superstar, and definitely they made my day!!

6. PEACE LOVE SHEA

Beside all things which I've mentioned, I met one of my favorite bloggers - Shea Marie, from PeaceLoveShea, on the street and she was incredibly friendly! It's always nice exchanging some tips and experiences, especially with someone from same branch.

7. COFFE, LUNCH & DINNERS

Obviously, I was eating more than ever and would like to share my favorite places with you: Pasticcerie Marchesi at Via Montenapoleone for coffee and panning in the morning, Bice for lunch, God Save the Food for an apperetivo, Giacomo for dinner. And no, don’t even think of going to Nobu. In Italy we eat Italian food. Treat yourself right and feel the hedonistic vibe of „dolce vita“.

8. FAVOURITE SHOWS AT MILAN FASHION WEEK

My favorite shows were Aigner and Elisabetta Franchi, together with the opening of the new La Perla store at Monte Napoleone, where I met Kendall Jenner. (Unfortunately, I couldn’t take photos but it was such an experience).

9. ARMANI HOTEL MILAN

And the weekend was a story itself. I stayed at my favorite hotel in Milano: Armani (remember when I told you that something good came from changing hotels?). I spent a day pampering myself with massages and going to the spa. I needed it badly. With no complaining, fashion weeks are extremely exhausting, especially if you just started to blog and still get to know how everything works. However, I feel blessed that I can do what I am passionate about.

10. WHAT I WORE DURING MILAN FASHION WEEK

Regarding style, everybody asked me about the black dress I was wearing together with my red croco bag of the Swiss brand The Collector: It’s a Portuguese brand called Lidija Kolovrat. I felt amazing by the attention which I had, so never underestimate the power of being well dressed or even better dressed adequate with regard to type of the event one is attending.

To summarize, being part of Milan Fashion Week was an amazing experience! Dynamic and time consuming for sure, and yet so refreshing in terms of getting inspiration and new ideas. I just loved it.
