Tough Mudder Race - what an amazing experience!

Life is full of amazing experiences, which is great, as they make us grow, both physically and psychically. Some experiences are more difficult than others, but when there is a good goal, they are really worth going through! Let me tell you more about such a great time I had during my Tough Mudder Race experience last weekend.

What is the Tough Mudder race

Tough Mudder Race is a 10.4km running with 25 obstacles including a 0 degree cold pool topped with ice cubes and 10k volt electroshock therapy at the end. It makes you test your own strength and persistence. You have to prepare for this race, as it is not an easy but a challenging one. Actually, it is an experience which both tests your inner strength and willingness to go a step further.

Why I decided to take part in part in the Tough Mudder race

If you follow me on Instagram, you may noticed that I work out at Personal Space Fitness in Mayfair. It is a group of dedicated health professionals offering much more than just training. This Team is celebrating a specific anniversary this year, 10 years on Curzon Street, by setting a task of achieving 10 big challenges; from climbing Mt Blanc, to decathlons, marathons and lifting lots of heavy weights all to raise money for charity. Accordingly, Tough Mudder is one of those events, which has a noble goal - raising money for two great charities:

Cherry Trees, a Surrey based charity organization offering home from home short break / respite care for children and young people aged 0 -19 with a range of disabilities including learning, physical and sensory impairments;

Harrison’s fund, an organization raising money to fight Duchene’s muscular dystrophy disease.

So, guys, when I heard of Tough Mudder race, I immediately knew that I was totally in for this kind of race. It was such a great occasion to help someone in need and support altruistic goals together with the PS Team.

Secondly, I am a great supporter of healthy life and physical activity, as staying healthy highly depends on our activities. The values of Personal Space Team, health care and body activation are completely aligned with my own philosophy.

When I thought about it, it was something that I really stand for, and applying was a logical next step. I mean, don’t we all need some excitement from time to time, especially when purpose is so good as this one?

How the Tough Mudder race went

How thrilled and excited I was! Nothing could compare with the adrenaline overload and that feeling after making it through! I succeeded and overcame all the obstacles, finishing the race with a smile! A tired one, to be honest, but also a winning smile which was telling: I made it! We made it! If you follow me on Instagram (if you don’t here’s the link so you can have a glimpse Dostinja), you could see the bruises which I earned on Tough Mudder race journey, but I can tell you: It was totally worth it!

After all, I am very happy for participating in this race, I would gladly recommend the Tough Mudder experience to everyone! Challenges make us stronger and wiser, even if we do not see it immediately. When you look back one day, you will be proud of how brave you were, pushing yourself higher and higher. By experimenting with so called limits of body and strength, you get to know yourself better.

Take care of your body and mind, take care of others in need and do not forget to catch the moments at some breaks while doing it!

And, if you would like to help, you can do it by donating here  https://www.justgiving.com/teams/ThePS10yearchallenge. We are still raising money for two charities which I mentioned above: Cherry Trees and Harrison’s fund.

Hugs,
Dostinja
